Ask How a Tornado Saved My Life
Ask How a Tornado Saved My Life
On April 16th, 2011, the tornado that struck the Raleigh area made a huge impact in my life. While the tornado damaged my house, I later realized that it actually saved my life. Since the tornado, I've battled and am currently facing challenging medical situations that have taken an emotional and financial toll.

We are urgently seeking donations to deliver mobile homes/RVs and generators to western NC, an area affected by Hurricane Helene. Shelter and generators are critical! Also, generators are critical for individuals with medical conditions that require electricity to operate equipment such as CPAP or oxygen machines. We are working to get them delivered as soon as possible. If you would like to help, please click the button below to contribute and learn more about hurricane relief updates! Urgent donations are needed! Helping Hands for Haiti is facing a critical time and urgently needs our help. Due to recent storms, the local school in Haiti has suffered significant damage. In addition to repairing the school, the community also needs funds to provide food, school supplies, and other essential items to those in need.

In October of 2000, I learned that I had suffered a major heart attack and ended up having a quadruple open heart bypass surgery.
10 years later I had a moderate heart attack while dealing with family problems. This led to a second open heart bypass surgery.
One year later, in 2011, a tornado struck my house and while it did not demolish it, I can no longer live in it.
However, because of that tornado I was made aware of an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm. If the aneurysm had not been found, I would not be here today.
I have also dealt with kidney stones and an overactive thyroid.

Help Support My Heart Transplant Journey
I’m living with advanced heart failure and currently rely on an LVAD to keep my heart pumping as I await a transplant. So far, my medical care has resulted in $1.7 million in claims — most of which insurance has covered — but I still face out-of-pocket costs.
Will you prayerfully consider donating to help cover ongoing medical bills, medications, and transplant-related expenses? Your support means more than words can say. Thank you for your kindness and prayers.
