Ask How a Tornado Saved My Life
On April 16th, 2011, the tornado that struck the Raleigh area made a huge impact in my life. While the tornado damaged my house, I later realized that it actually saved my life. Since the tornado, I've battled and am currently facing challenging medical situations that have taken an emotional and financial toll.

In October of 2000, I learned that I had suffered a major heart attack and ended up having a quadruple open heart bypass surgery.
10 years later I had a moderate heart attack while dealing with family problems. This led to a second open heart bypass surgery.
One year later, in 2011, a tornado struck my house and while it did not demolish it, I can no longer live in it.
However, because of that tornado I was made aware of an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm. If the aneurysm had not been found, I would not be here today.
I have also dealt with kidney stones and an overactive thyroid.
My heart has now failed. Due to heart failure, I've been equipped with a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD). This is device is in place to pump blood through my heart until I am able to get a heart transplant. I am currently in need of a generator that will serve as a backup power source, allowing me to keep my LVAD batteries charged and my heart pumping at all times. To get approved for a heart transplant, I have to prove that I have adequate money to pay for rejection medication, which insurance does not cover. Therefore, I cannot move forward with this surgery without the funding.
Will you help?
My mission is to tell my story to help give people hope when they feel they have none. Also, I dedicate my time to serving others through missionary work. However, my health issues have resulted in issues with my hands, speech, and the need for a heart transplant.
If you would like to discuss how you can support my missionary work or medical needs, or would like to learn more about my medical needs, please contact me.
Will you prayerfully consider donating to help me cover the cost of my current medical expenses and the cost for my heart transplant, which is estimated to be $1.3 million for the medications and surgery.
